In the same way we need to study the scriptures so we can have a strong foundation and know the good works that God has called us to do.

John 6:25-59

“Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” (John 6:27) These were Jesus’ words of encouragement to the crowds that had been following him for the signs He was performing. Jesus told them He was the Bread of Life and that in Him was eternal life. He told them that the work of God was to believe in Him. We can apply this to our own lives by believing in Jesus and laboring first and foremost for food that feeds our soul. We can do this by reading the Bible, contending against the enemy through prayer, and fighting sin daily. This is the only thing that will last forever.

Understanding the love our our Heavenly Father will strengthen, refresh, envision, and encourage us through the tough times. Jesus went to the cross, per our Heavenly Father’s will, because He understood “This is my son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased” (Matt 3:17). Let’s follow Jesus’ example and draw upon our Father’s love for everything that we do.

We are reminded of the significance of Jesus' Resurrection.  It is an unprecedented and undeniable proof of Jesus' power.  His resurrection was God's acceptance of His sacrifice as payment for our original disobedience, which led to the consequence of mankind's spiritual death.  As we chose to accept Jesus, we will have freedom and spiritual life for all eternity.
